Rangers star Wilson has played alongside Kiernan and Tottenham loanee Ball.
Speaking on Ball, and first-choice centre-back Rob Kiernan, Wilson said: “They are good guys on and off the pitch. I have played with Rob more but that is no slight on Dom because he has been great when he’s come in and whenever he has been asked to play he has done fantastically well.”
Ball has found himself behind Wilson and Kiernan in the pecking order at Ibrox, having joined Rangers on loan from Tottenham over the summer.
The young defender, who has yet to play for Spurs, has only made three league appearances for the Gers, whilst also playing in the League Cup and Challenge Cup.
This is far lower than the eight Championship games Kiernan has played, partnering Wilson as Mark Warburton’s first-choice central defensive duo.
However, Wilson has high praise for Ball, who has admitted that the Spurs man has been fantastic whenever coming into play, rather than sulking on the sidelines that he is not playing consistently.
This loan spell with Rangers was the chance for Ball to play some first-team football in a competitive league to aid his development. Unlike the other loan signings made by Warburton - Nathan Oduwa and Gedion Zelalem - Ball has had to wait for his chance, and playing consistently does not look like a possibility any time soon.
However, as long as he continues with his professional attitude, which has endeared him to the playing squad, it should be that Ball has a very productive loan spell with the Gers this season.
