Liverpool's Lloyd Jones tweets positive update after ankle operation

Welcome To Anfield

The Liverpool youngster has recently been side-lined through injury.

Young Liverpool defender Lloyd Jones has taken to Twitter following two successful operations this week.

The 20-year-old was on loan at League One club Blackpool for the season, but he suffered an ankle injury in the recent match against Chesterfield and subsequently returned to Anfield to have his problem assessed.

The player himself has now confirmed on social media that he had two operations and that everything appears to have gone according to plan.

“Both operations went well,” Jones wrote. “Time to recover.”

Jones is yet to make his first-team debut for Liverpool but has turned out 40 times for the Reds’ under-21 side.

Prior to his injury Jones made nine appearances for Blackpool this season and he was looking impressive, but this setback means he will have to wait a while before getting back onto the field.

A recent report from the Liverpool Echo claims Jones will head back to Blackpool to continue his loan spell when he recovers but that was written before he had surgery so only time will tell what the rest of this season holds for him.
