The Portuguese midfielder is slightly out-of-favour at the moment but is happy with the club.
Portuguese midfielder Jose Semedo is something of a cult hero with the Sheffield Wednesday faithful. The Owls fans have voted him as their player of the year in the past and the former Portugal under-21 international remains a popular figure at the club today.
He joined Wednesday from Charlton Athletic in 2011 and has since gone on to become a regular at Hillsborough.
This season he has found first-team football harder to come by. Semedo, who is close friends with Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, has played just twice in the Championship this season - although he did score against Mansfield in the Capital One Cup back in August.
Despite the reduction in his playing time however Semedo is sill in love with the club.
He has revealed on his official Twitter account how he came to decide on Sheffield Wednesday as his next club. It came after playing at Hillsborough with former club Charlton.
I remember when I was playing for Charlton and coming to hillsborough. After the game I knew I had to play for #swfc - hand on heart.— José Semedo (@JVSemedo) October 7, 2015
I always give everything for the clubs I play for and loved them all, #swfc is home though :-) Feeling Positive!— José Semedo (@JVSemedo) October 7, 2015
Semedo will no doubt be doing his utmost to force his way into Carlos Carvalhal's league plans. But having a dedicated an loyal servant like this waiting in the wings can only be good news for Owls fans.
