Dumebi Dumaka: Five things West Ham fans should know about the non-league star

The 21-year-old Nigerian has been in superb form for Grays Athletic - but what should West Ham fans know about the non-league goal machine?

With West Ham riding high in the Premier League at present, it seems like manager Slaven Bilic can do little wrong.

So when it was reported by The Daily Mail that the Hammers were keeping tabs on non-league star Dumebi Dumaka, few batted an eyelid.

But what should West Ham fans know about this potential diamond in the rough, ahead of any possible move to the Iron? Here are five things they may have missed.

He's got an great scoring record this season

In seven appearances for Grays this season, Dumaka has scored an astonishing 12 goals.

He's familiar with West Ham's new ground

Something of a self-starter, Dumaka was involved in the running of the London Olympics, working for G4S in the pedestrian screening area, and as a result he could be a familiar face to some sports fans.

He's already made an impact in the FA Cup

When Grays hosted Hullbridge Sports and the Mill Field in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup this season, Dumaka enjoyed a game to remember, netting a hat-trick for the home side in a 6-0 win.

He's got ambitions outside of football

A studious youngster with a bright future in or out of the game, Dumaka worked on a social project of AIESEC in Sao Paulo, Brazil back in 2013 and more recently completed a prestigious internship with Ernst & Young in New York. This boy has got brains.

He's not the best tackler

Though his goalscoring record is superb and his work ethic evidently solid enough, there is a suggestion that Dumaka's tackling leaves something to be desired with two yellow cards for rash challenges in a recent clash with Dulwich Hamlet resulting in a red. You have been warned.
