Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic explains his hopes and main aim

The Australian international just wants to remain fit.

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has certainly had a much better start to the new season than any of his previous with The Bhoys.

The Australian is now looking forward to a week of international fixtures with Australia. He takes on Jordan with his nation later today and will be hoping to keep up his recent form for the Soccerroos - which recently saw him score in a 5-0 win v Bangladesh.

He has been speaking the official Celtic website this week. Despite his current upward trajectory for Rogic it is clear what his main objective must continue to be - stay fit.

He stated:

“It’s nice to be back fit and that’s sort of the main thing on both fronts with Celtic and Australia. To be playing in the last international games and obviously to score as well was a bonus.

“I’ll be looking to do that this week, so hopefully we can carry with some good form and I can bring that back to the club as well."

The Australian international arrived with plenty of optimism behind him back in 2013 but has so far struggled to live up to expectations.

The youngster arrived from Central Coast Mariners already a fully-fledged Australian international, but he has struggled with injury and form ever since and has only recently discovered his best form.

This campaign he has been exceptional. He has scored three goals in eleven appearances across all competitions and the Celtic fans are finally getting to see the best of him.

They will hope he returns from Jordan unscathed to continue his Celtic revival.
