Bristol City lining up loan move for Norwich winger Elliott Bennett

HITC Sport understands that the Championship outfit are keen to acquire the services of a man out of favour at Carrow Road.

Bristol City are lining up a loan move for Norwich City's Ellliott Bennett, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the proposed deal.

The winger has fallen out of favour at Carrow Road, severely limiting his game time.

He has been restricted to just two Capital One Cup appearances for far this season, with only one of them coming from the start.

The 26-year-old clearly needs competitive minutes, and a loan spell may be the best way to get them.

Bennett’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, so he will also be eager to position himself in the shop window.

Bristol City are prepared to offer him those opportunities, with the Robins in need of proven Football League experience.

They are finding the going a little tough back in the Championship, but Bennett has spent plenty of time outside of the Premier League - with the likes of Brighton, Bury and Crewe - so could be a useful addition to Steve Cotterill’s ranks.
