Atdhe Nuhiu discloses what Carlos Carvalhal keeps telling the Sheffield Wednesday squad

Atdhe Nuhiu has managed to score three goals in his 11 games for Sheffield Wednesday this season.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu has told the Sheffield Star that Carlos Carvalhal has been telling the squad not to get carried away this season.

Carvalhal has made a positive start to life in the Hillsborough hot-seat, and Nuhiu is certainly enjoying working with the Portuguese manager.

The target-man centre-forward says that Carvalhal is very supportive of him, and he has been keen to stress to his players the importance of staying calm, whether they have won or lost.

“He always reminds us that there is a long way to go," Nuhiu said. “He is very good. We have found the team. He likes to play good, passing football.

“He’s a typical European manager – strict but also fair. They never lose focus even if the team doesn’t win for a few games. My relationship with him is very supportive and good."

Nuhiu has been one of Carvalhal's key players during his short time with the Yorkshire club, with the burly striker starting most games.

The 49-year-old boss has tended to tinker with his line-up, but Nuhiu has received regular action so far this campaign.

At the moment, the Austrian forward has netted three goals in his 11 appearances, and he leads the club's scoring charts alongside Lewis McGugan.

Nuhiu's goals have helped Wednesday to climb into 10th place in the Championship table, and they are just three points adrift of the play-off places.
