The Manchester United midfielder is currently on international duty.
Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has posted a picture of himself with his former Bayern Munich teammate Thomas Muller on Twitter as they head off for the latest round of international fixtures.
Schweinsteiger arrived at Old Trafford during the summer and according to a recent report from the Daily Mail, United did everything in their power to also sign Muller in the same transfer window.
Given Muller’s talent and United’s lack of strikers that was no surprise, especially when you consider the 26-year-old has already scored 10 goals in just 11 games for Bayern this season.
But alas United failed in any and all bids for the player and they were left with three attacking options in the form of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and James Wilson.
Schweinsteiger took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to share a picture he had taken with Muller ahead of Germany’s Euro 2016 qualifying matches against Republic of Ireland and Georgia, the first of which takes place on Thursday.
Schweinsteiger was part of the United side that lost 3-0 to Arsenal on Sunday and there is plenty of work for manager Louis van Gaal to do before his side can look to reclaim the Premier League title.
