Credit Suisse has hired former Standard Chartered banker Richard Kao for its greater China corporate finance team, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Wednesday.

Reuters reports that the bank has also hired Alain Lam as its head of technology for Asia from Morgan Stanley, the source said, declining to be identified because the hires are not yet public.

In the meantime, Bloomberg News reports that Jefferies hired Steve Garrard, formerly head of equity sales trading for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Citigroup, according to two people familiar with the decisions.

Garrard will start soon at Jefferies in London as senior sales trader, said the people, who asked not to be named, citing confidentiality.
