West Ham United prospect Lewis Page has told the club's official website that he is enjoying training alongside summer signing Dimitri Payet.
Page, 19, had featured in pre-season for West Ham, but suffered an injury in a Europa League play-off against Astra Giurgiu, ruling him out of action.
Now back in training, Page is hoping to become the latest youngster to come up through the Hammers ranks and make an impact in the first team.
The likes of Glen Johnson, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole and Jermain Defoe have emerged at Upton Park over the years, and whilst James Tomkins and Mark Noble are the latest youth graduates to star for the West Ham first team, there has been something of a drought in recent times.
The teenage left back also added that training alongside French star Dimitri Payet has been a great experience so far, given how the playmaker has dazzled fans with his ability so far this season.
"After the international break I should be back to full training with the first team," said Page. "The aim now is hopefully to get my Premier League debut at some point this season."
"I can’t wait to be back involved in the first team squad again. We’ve got a great squad now; players like Dimitri Payet are special. To be able to train with him and all the other new players we have is something I’ve enjoyed so far and can’t wait to get back into it," he added.
