The Danish playmaker may well have netted a brace against Swansea on Sunday, but he has stated that he is not currently fully fit.
The former Ajax star was Spurs’ saving grace against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday, scoring two sublime direct free-kicks to bring his side back from both 1-0 and 2-1 down.
Eriksen had been on the sidelines with a knee injury and missed a number of important Premier League fixtures for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
However, his man-of-the-match performance in South Wales reminded the travelling support of just how important the 23-year-old is to the North London club.
The Scandinavian star has jetted out for international duty with Denmark, with Eriksen set to feature for his country against Portugal on Thursday. The Danes also have an international friendly fixture with Euro 2016 hosts France on Sunday night.
The Spurs man has revealed that he is still working his way back to fitness and is only at 90 per cent, despite playing the full 90 minutes against Swansea at the weekend.
“I am close to getting there, but there is still a little bit more to do,” Eriksen told TV3.
“Sometimes I get the feeling that I am lacking the small details. I'm maybe 90 percent fit, and on Thursday I hope to be at 100 percent.”
