Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing Sofiane Boufal.
The Evening Standard have claimed that Tottenham are looking at Sofiane Boufal of Lille, following the 22-year-old’s dazzling performances in France.
The young winger has been tracked regularly by Spurs over the past few weeks, and he would have been impressing the North London club in his eight appearances so far this season.
He has scored eight goals, becoming a real attacking live wire in the Lille side, playing as a left-winger and number 10 on various occasions.
However, little is known about the youngster, and we take a look at how Boufal has been playing this season, as Spurs continue to scout the winger.
In Ligue 1, Boufal has been one of the most effective attacking players this season, with both his goalscoring and creative skills on show.
He has scored three goals, whilst only taking 2.3 shots per game, making him a fairly precise goalscorer, especially in relation to some of the players who have netted more goals in the league.
However, it is his creative skills which truly shine brightly on the youngster, despite the fact he has yet to record an assist this campaign.
Boufal plays 3.6 key passes per game, the second best in the division - Wabi Khazri has played 3.8 - and he would be registering assists every game if his teammates were not so profligate in front of goal.
He is also the best dribbler in the division - with four successful runs per game - and his impressive skills with the ball have seen opposition players become frustrated with him - making him the most tackled player in the division as well.
There are some weak points to his game, and his lack of experience is shown with the fact that he is the most dispossessed player in the league, and makes the second highest number of unsuccessful touches per game.
However, Boufal looks to be a fantastic attacking talent who is only going to improve as the years pass, and Spurs should be looking to make a move for the winger when the January transfer window opens.
