West Brom are looking to sign a left-back in January.
The Baggies do have a recognised left-back in their squad, with Sebastien Pocognoli taking that role, but for some reason Pulis has no desire to use him.
He has undoubted quality, but Pulis has outcast the left-back, opting to use Chris Brunt in an unnatural defensive position instead.
Brunt can play the role, but not up to Premier League quality, and he was given the run around last weekend against Wilfried Zaha, further backing up the point that the Baggies need a new left-back.
It is a clear position of weakness in the first-team squad, and the report indicates that strengthening the left-back position is a priority for Pulis in the January transfer window.
There are currently no indications as to whom that left-back could be, but West Brom will need to ensure he has the quality required to perform in the Premier League, so as to ensure Pulis can name a natural back-four in his defence this season.
