HITC Sport understands Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder George Saville is set to join Millwall on loan.

Millwall are poised to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder George Saville on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Millwall manager Neil Harris is looking for midfield reinforcements after seeing Jimmy Abdou and Ed Upson both pick up injuries in last weekend's defeat to Peterborough United.

Harris has been scouring the loan market for new additions and has moved quickly to agree a deal for former Chelsea youngster Saville.

Savile finds himself currently down the pecking order at Wolves and has yet to feature in the Championship this season, with his only two appearances coming in the Capital One Cup.

The 22-year-old, who joined Wolves last summer, struggled to nail down a place in Kenny Jackett's side last season and spent three months out on loan at Bristol City - helping them to win the League One title.

Jackett is happy to loan out Saville so that he can get valuable first-team action under his belt, allowing him to return to Molineux ready to challenge for a place in the starting XI.

Saville had a spell on loan at Millwall earlier in his career when he was at Chelsea, making three appearances during a two-month stint in 2013.
