Matthew Etherington backs West Ham United to finish in the top half of the Premier League table this season.

Matthew Etherington has predicted on social networking site Twitter that West Ham United will certainly finish in the top half of the Premier League table this season.

The London outfit ended up 12th in the standings last season, and former West Ham winger Etherington has backed them to do better this term.

Given the start West Ham have made to the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, they should actually be looking to finish in the top eight, perhaps even higher.

At the moment, Slaven Bilic’s side are sixth with 14 points from eight matches, just a point behind fourth-place Crystal Palace.

A top-four finish is probably beyond the current West Ham side, but a Europa League spot is certainly within their grasp.

The Hammers have some quality players such as Adrian, Alex Song, Dimitri Payet and Victor Moses, and they should be aiming for a top-six finish in the Premier League this campaign.
