HITC Sport understands Huddersfield Town have ended their interest in former Newcastle striker Leon Best.
Former Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers striker Leon Best will not be joining Huddersfield Town after a trial at the club, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the potential deal.
Free agent Best had been on trial at Huddersfield for the last couple of weeks as he hoped to win a move to the John Smith's Stadium.
Best played for Huddersfield's development side last week against Ipswich Town and he is thought to have impressed Terriers boss Chris Powell.
As revealed by HITC Sport Huddersfield offered the 29-year-old a short-term deal at the club, but they have now shelved their interest after failing to agre a deal with Best.
It means that Best will now have to continue his search as he looks to fix himself up with a new club having been without one since being released by Blackburn in the summer after a disappointing spell at Ewood Park.
Best has endured a difficult last 12 months having spent the majority of last season out on loan at Derby County and Brighton & Hove Albion after finding himself out of favour at Blackburn.
