Harry Redknapp explains how he thinks Jurgen Klopp would do at Liverpool

The former manager has been speaking about the man tipped to take the Liverpool hot seat.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp has been speaking to Kicca about the prospect of Jurgen Klopp taking over at Liverpool.

The Reds are currently looking for a new manager after sacking Brendan Rodgers on Sunday, and according to the BBC, former Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp is their preferred option for the job.

Klopp is currently out of work having left Dortmund at the end of last season, and Redknapp for one thinks he will do a good job if he does ultimately arrive at Anfield.

However, the former Tottenham boss hinted that would be more to do with the players he would have at his disposal than anything else.

“The thing with this game is, what people don’t understand, they keep on about managers how good they are, you know what the game is about, good players,” Redknapp said. “Don’t kid yourself, the best teams have got the best players.

“Klopp will go in there, he’s got a great group of players, they are capable of finishing fourth, maybe they’ll finish fifth. He’s got a good chance because he’s going to a fantastic football club.”

Rodgers’ last game in charge was the Merseyside derby, which ended 1-1, and heading into the international break Liverpool find themselves 10th in the table after collecting 12 points from their first eight matches.

If Klopp does take charge, his first match is likely to be the game against Tottenham on 17 October at White Hart Lane.
