Eric Dier and N’Golo Kante impressed with a particular attribute.
The Italian coach isn’t the only one making an impression in the opening stages of his Leicester career as summer signing N’Golo Kante rises to the challenges of top-flight English football.
Joining the club as an Esteban Cambiasso replacement in midfield, Kante has a big void to fill and has so far performed admirably for the East Midlands outfit.
As per the table provided by Opta, the former Caen star recorded a joint league-high six interceptions as the Foxes took three points against a decent Norwich side at Carrow Road.
Kante, though, wasn’t alone in making an impact as Dier put in another strong performance in his newfound position as a defensive midfielder with Spurs.
The youngster was very much used as a makeshift fullback last season, despite previously being considered a centre-back at former club Sporting Lisbon.
Yet, this season Dier has shown his versatility by stepping up into midfield and performing exceptionally well in the absence of last season’s regulars Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb.
During his side’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Sunday, the England U21 international also recorded six interceptions which was the game’s highest tally and the joint-most by any midfielder at the weekend.
