Tottenham Hotspur's scouts checked out Porto last week.
Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts last week to check out Porto's Champions League win over Chelsea.
Here is a look at three players they could and perhaps should have been checking out...
Aboubakar has filled the void created by Jackson Martinez's summer exit, and looks the part already. At Spurs the striker could link up with Cameroon international teammate Clinton N'Jie. He has scored six goals in nine games so far this season, including two in two Champions League games.
25-year-old Herrera is a player who has it all. The central midfielder starred at the 2014 World Cup and has been at Porto since 2013. He can score and create goals and would be a livewire addition to Tottenham's midfield. He has just the one goal so far this season, and a contract at Porto until 2019.
Spurs were linked with signing Imbula from Marseille in the summer by The Mirror, but did not push hard enough to close out a deal. The defensive midfielder remains an outstanding prospect and it would make sense for Tottenham to continue to keep tabs on the 23-year-old.
