Report: Celtic dream of Manchester United striker James Wilson

Celtic are interested in signing James Wilson of Manchester United.

Celtic are interested in signing Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan, report The Sun.

The teenager was on the bench for the Red Devils as they lost to Arsenal at the weekend, and is waiting patiently for a chance.

Celtic are monitoring Wilson's situation, and believe if the striker continues to struggle for chances then they have a good chance of getting him.

United currently have defender Tyler Blackett on loan with the Scottish champions, who also bought Saidy Janko from the Red Devils permanently in the summer.

Wilson has been prolific for Manchester United's under-21 side, and also scored a winner for England's under-21 side earlier this season.

Celtic are currently second in the Scottish Premier League to Aberdeen, and adding to their squad mid-season would help their attempts to compete domestically and in the Europa League, should they progress.

Wilson is a bright talent, who needs minutes, and United will need to decide whether they want to send him on loan to Celtic, or a club in the English Championship, if he fails to break into their first team over the coming months.
