Hugo Lloris reflects on defining moment in Tottenham's 2-2 draw with Swansea

White Hart Lane 5

The Tottenham Hotspur stopper has been talking about his huge late save.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been speaking to the club’s official website about his contribution to the side’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Sunday.

The French international was beaten by an Andre Ayew strike and an own-goal from Harry Kane, but he pulled off a vital late save to ensure Tottenham took a point back to North London.

Lloris has been integral to Tottenham’s progress this season and while the club will no doubt be disappointed not to have taken all three points, they should be happy with their impressive recent form both domestically and in Europe.

Speaking to tottenhamhotspur.com after the match, Lloris reflected on the moment he tipped Federico Fernandez’s injury-time effort onto the bar in a moment that could have changed the outcome of the match.

“We work every day with Toni Jimenez (goalkeeper coach) and the other goalkeepers to always be on our toes, be ready to take quick steps and push the ball away and this work helped me today,” Lloris said.

It was a defining moment in the match and while he will now be focusing on international matters with France, Lloris will then return knowing Tottenham could be on for a very successful season if they continue to play to their full potential.
