Huddersfield loan star Huws unlikely to return to Wigan

HITC Sport understands Huddersfield Town loan star Emyr Huws is unlikely to return to Wigan after his loan spell.

Emyr Huws is unlikely to return to Wigan Athletic after impressing on loan at Huddersfield Town, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Huws, who joined Huddersfield on a season-long loan from Wigan at the end of August, has been a revelation for Chris Powell's men with a number of outstanding performances.

The Wales international has scored four goals in his last four games and his performances have not gone unnoticed by clubs higher up the football pyramid.

Huws initially joined Wigan on loan from Manchester City last summer before quickly making the move permanent.

The classy playmaker played only 11 times for Latics last season after suffering an ankle injury in the second half of the season.

Huws is understood to be unhappy at how he was treated in the final days before his switch to Huddersfield and was disappointed by Gary Caldwell's public criticism of him after the move.

Huddersfield are keen to make his move permanent already after establishing himself as a key player at the John Smith's Stadium, but several other clubs are monitoring the 22-year-old's situation following his flying start to the season.
