Victor Anichebe reacts on Twitter to Brown Ideye's first goal for Olympiakos

West Brom

The West Brom striker has congratulated his former team-mate.

Victor Anichebe was delighted for Brown Ideye on Twitter after the 26-year-old netted his first goal for Olympiakos on Sunday night.

Indeed, the striker who left West Brom over the summer got on the scoresheet for the Greek side for the first time.

It's something that took him a while to do at the Hawthorns and, after he had managed the feat, he didn't repeat it all that often.

Nevertheless, he still has the backing of former team-mate Anichebe, who sent him a message on Twitter after his goalscoring exploits...

Reaction to Ideye leaving West Brom seemed to be passive.

The 26-year-old never seemed to work out at the Hawthorns and, while he always had his supporters, there was never anyone to really protest when he was allowed to leave the Baggies.

Part of the reason was no doubt Ideye being replaced as the club's record signing by Salomon Rondon and part was the fact he only netted four Premier League goals last season.

Ironically, though, West Brom could do with some goals this time around. Although, knowing Tony Pulis lately, he would probably take Ideye off if his side were losing and in need of a goal...
