Tottenham Hotspur's two-goal hero Christian Eriksen explains his free-kick technique

The Dane makes it sound oh so simple...

When Tottenham Hotspur signed up Christian Eriksen from Ajax he arrived at the club with a reputation for one thing in particular, being a free-kick specialist.

The Dane was well known for his dead-ball antics and he has proved that on a number of occasions at Spurs recently.

None more so than today, as his two free-kicks saved Tottenham from defeat against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Spurs twice trailed to The Swans. Firstly there was a goal from Andre Ayew and then Harry Kane lashed a ball into his own net when defending a corner.

But on both occasions Eriksen saved the day with wonderful free-kick efforts.

The Tottenham hero has now been speaking about his free-kick technique. He told Tottenham reporters, as posted on the club’s official Twitter account:

"I know the keeper will either stay or go behind his wall and I saw him take a step so I hit it that side.

"It was wider but I thought he'd think I was going top left so I hit it hard towards the top right."

Eriksen certainly looks like he is set to challenge Chelsea’s Willian, who has scored four free kicks in as many games, to the title of best free-kick taker in the Premier League. Spurs will just hope that in future they do not need to rely on Eriksen to perform his party trick for a share of the spoils.
