The Tottenham Hotspur boss was thankful for his play-maker's goal-scoring contribution against Swansea City.
Tottenham had Danish international Christian Eriksen to thank for their point as the midfielder scored twice to ensure Andre Ayew’s strike and Harry Kane’s own-goal did not give Swansea the victory.
Eriksen’s goals were his first of the season and he will no doubt be hoping this is a catalyst for a significant upturn in form in that regard.
Last season the 23-year-old scored 12 goals in 48 matches for Tottenham and prior to the weekend he had 22 since arriving at White Hart Lane. But now he has added two more to that tally and while he will pause for the international break, Eriksen should then return with the bit between his teeth.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino hailed the great Dane while bemoaning his side’s failure to get all three points.
“We need to develop that killer instinct,” the Tottenham boss said. “They were two great free-kicks by Eriksen. He has a natural ability and works hard.”
