Southampton fans react on Twitter to Bertrand's performance against Chelsea

Southampton defeated Chelsea 3-1 this weekend but what did Saints fans make of Ryan Bertrand's contribution?

Southampton heaped more pressure on Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho this weekend as Ronald Koeman’s side defeated the Blues 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The Saints fully deserved their victory – which came courtesy of goals from Steven Davis, Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle – but as impressive as their attacking players were, Southampton’s back-line also deserves plenty of credit.

Former Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand was back for Southampton after a knee operation, making only his third appearance of the season following outings against MK Dons and Swansea City.

In truth Bertrand looked like he had never been away and his presence in the Southampton defence can only be a good thing as Koeman’s side attempt to reach the heady heights of last season and potentially qualify for Europe once more.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what Southampton fans thought of Bertrand’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
