Liverpool take on Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon in a huge match for both sides.

The Reds are currently 10th in the Premier League after a hit-and-miss start to the new campaign, while Everton are seventh with one point more than their Merseyside rivals.

In early team news, the BBC reports that Liverpool striker Christian Benteke is to have a late fitness assessment to ascertain if he is ready to feature. However, fellow summer signing Roberto Firmino remains on the side-lines along with Jordan Henderson and Dejan Lovren.

As for Everton, Kevin Mirallas is suspended while Muhamed Besic is injured, but key defenders John Stones and Seamus Coleman could be back.

In other news, the Sunday People reports that Liverpool are interested in 20-year-old Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi.

The young left winger has already scored seven goals in 14 games for the Dutch club this season and Liverpool are reportedly keeping a very close eye on him.

However, the report claims Everton have also joined the race and are now scouting the £12million-rated player.
