Uwe Rosler promised heavy metal football at Leeds... fans are still waiting.
Uwe Rosler talked a good game when he was appointed as Leeds United boss. Fans are still waiting for results to match the theory.
The German promised to bring 'heavy metal football' to the club, telling the club's official website he wanted to get home stadium rocking through the energy of the players on the pitch.
He said: "It’s very much influenced on the German way – transition football which is very quick into attack from defence. I like very powerful, quick football. Jurgen Klopp says ‘heavy metal’, so that sort of football."
Now in October, Leeds are yet to produce the football to capture the imagination of their supporters.
They languish in the lower half of the table, showing no early sign of progression on last season, or bounce from the appointment of a new head coach.
The Whites lost at home at the weekend to Birmingham City, failing to score. The statistics do not look good.
They sit in 16th place, and have just 11 points from 10 games. They have scored only nine goals this season, an average of under one per game.
Rosler cannot be happy with how Leeds' season is panning out, and he is not the only one.
Fans have not forgotten Rosler's headline grabbing soundbite about his tactical plan, and responded accordingly after their defeat to Birmingham.
