The Argentine put in a great performance in the Merseyside derby.
Everton and Liverpool went head-to-head in the Merseyside derby this afternoon with the end result being honours even.
Liverpool took the lead through Danny Ings but a goal from Romelu Lukaku on the stroke of half-time saw that the points were shared come the end of the game.
There were some top performances in the game from Everton players.
Gareth Barry was excellent in midfield, Romelu Lukaku class up top and Tyias Browning impressive at right-back once again.
However the performance of Ramiro Funes Mori certainly stood out.
The summer signing arrived at the club with the purpose of providing top quality cover for John Stones and Phil Jagielka. With Stones failing to recover in time for an injury picked up against Reading in the League Cup recently the former River Plate man was called up to first-team action.
His performances for Everton so far have been sketchy but promising but today he shackled Daniel Sturridge in a magnificent defensive performance.
Here is how Everton fans reacted to the performance on Twitter…

Funes Mori though. Massively impressed with him in that game. Galloway class again.— Rochey (@Rochey_efc) October 4, 2015
Impressed with our back 4. 3/4 of our normal back 4 out injured. Mori was superb ... Thought Gareth Barry was our best player. #EFC— Thomas Cheetham (@Cheets28) October 4, 2015
Thought Funes Mori was outstanding and I want to see more of that from Lukaku too. #EFC— Rob Astell (@RobAstell) October 4, 2015
