The Rams finally won their first home game under new boss Paul Clement courtesy of goals from Chris Martin and Tom Ince helping them to a 2-0 victory over Brentford.
While the attacking duo will rightfully receive the plaudits for their goals, it was Derby’s midfield which drove them on to victory and in particular under-fire Irishman Jeff Hendrick.
The Derby product hasn’t been at his best this season, yet on Saturday he was given licence to play a bit further forward and showed his ability by testing the Brentford goalkeeper on as many as five occasions.

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, Hendrick posted the most shots in the Championship from midfield while record signing Johnson joined him in the top three.
It illustrates just how much talent and attacking intent is at Clement’s disposal in the East Midlands, though the same could also be said of Kenny Jackett at Wolves.
Aside from boasting one of the best strikers outside the Premier League in Benik Afobe, the West Midlands outfit also have plenty of attacking potency in midfield.
Against Huddersfield Town, the hosts didn’t really get going until Kevin McDonald put them ahead but soon after they found their groove with Henry pulling the strings from deep.
Interestingly, Derby and Wolves immediately face each other at the iPro Stadium following the international break and it’s a game which should be full of goals and entertainment.
