Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Alex Pritchard has taken to Twitter in order to comment on Andre Gray’s latest strike, as the goal-getter helped Burnley to a 2-1 win over Rotherham United.

The talented striker took all of nine minutes to break the deadlock against the Millers, beating defender Danny Collins to the ball before firing low past helpless goalkeeper Lee Camp.

It was his fourth goal in seven appearances since joining the Clarets from Brentford for a club record fee during the summer, and Spurs’ Alex Pritchard was leading his plaudits on Twitter.

Pritchard, 22, is aware of Gray’s goal scoring prowess more than most after spending a season alongside the former Luton Town man at Brentford last season.

It was an excellent loan spell for the Spurs youngster, as under the guidance of now-Rangers boss Mark Warburton he managed a very respectable 12 goals and seven assists in 45 starts.

Gray, though, was the real talent in front of goal at Griffin Park as his 18 Championship goals helped the Bees to secure an unlikely spot in the playoffs ahead of the much more fancied Derby County.

Despite the disappointing two-legged defeat to Middlesbrough, Gray’s Premier League ambitions have taken him to Burnley, where Friday’s victory over Rotherham lifts the Clarets into third place.

With Sam Vokes reliable and George Boyd providing ammunition from deep, it might not be too long until Gray and Pritchard are sharing the same pitch again, but this time in the top-flight.
