Rangers fans hailed James Tavernier for his goal against Falkirk.

Rangers kept up their 100% winning record in the Scottish Championship with a late 3-1 home win over Falkirk this afternoon.

Mark Warburton's men went in to the game having won all eight of their league games so far this season, and have now made that nine having beaten Falkirk at Ibrox.

Midfielder Dean Shiels opened the scoring for Rangers after just three minutes, only for Will Vaulks to equalise for Falkirk shortly after.

Rangers toiled away looking for the goal to put them in front, and it finally came, when right back James Tavernier hit his ninth goal of the season with a superb free kick with just nine minutes left to play.

Lee Wallace then made it 3-1 in added time, leaving in Rangers nine points clear at the top of the table after just nine games so far this season.

It was Tavernier who got the telling goal though, putting Rangers in front with yet another goal. A summer signing from Wigan, Tavernier has been surprisingly prolific despite playing at right back, and his performances have been a big reason why Rangers have been so impressive this season.

After the game, Rangers fans took to Twitter to praise Tavernier's performance - complete with nickname 'Blue Cafu' - and fans claimed that he was one of the club's best signings in recent years following another excellent display.
