The Dutchman saved a penalty against The Tigers.
It was in fact not a bad performance from Forest, with both teams trading blows throughout. However, in the end it was Hull who won courtesy of a Abel Hernandez goal.
Forest had some good performers on the day, with Henri Lansbury and Ryan Mendes both impressive. Matt Mills was on the other side of the spectrum – getting sent off in a forgettable afternoon.
However Dorus De Vries really caught the eye.
The Dutchman has been the number one goalkeeper for the club this season after Karl Darlow finally made a move to Newcastle United.
He has been a consistent performer in the Forest XI this season and today was excellent – including making a brilliant penalty save from the eventual goalscorer Hernandez.
When Forest decided not to bring in a new keeper this summer it raised some eyebrows among the Forest faithful.
However, it now looks like it was the right decision from Freedman as the stopper continues to impress.
Here is how Nottingham Forest fans reacted to his performance on Twitter…
Is that 2 penalties De Vries has saved already this season? Looks like we've found the new Mark Crossley #nffc— Joshua M Still (@MyDesireIs_) October 3, 2015
No disrespect (ok maybe some) how on earth did Darlow ever keep De Vries out the team? #nffc— Claire (@LilMissRedDog) October 3, 2015
