Celtic defensive midfielder Nir Bitton has been singing the praises of teammate Kieran Tierney on the club’s official website.
Tierney is an 18-year-old defender who is rated as one of the brightest young prospects in Scottish football.
The youngster made his European debut for the Bhoys on Thursday evening, as he featured in the Europa League Group A clash against Fenerbahce at Celtic Park.
The teenager started the encounter and played until the 82nd minute, as the Hoops played out a 2-2 draw.
Bitton was impressed with the performance of Tierney against the Turkish giants, but he said that he was not surprised.
“For a young lad to make his European debut against Nani and those type of players, he did very well and he just needs to keep working,” the 23-year-old told Celtic’s official website.
“I wasn’t surprised that he played so well because I’ve seen him in training every day and you can see that he’s a good player.”
Celtic will return to action on Sunday afternoon, when they take on Hamilton Academical away from home in the Scottish Premiership.
Ronny Deila’s side are second in the league table at the moment with 20 points from nine matches, four points behind leaders Aberdeen with a game in hand.
