Leeds United boss refuses to criticise Giuseppe Bellusci after Middlesbrough horror-show

Elland Road East Stand

Uwe Rosler is not dwelling on mistakes made last weekend.

Leeds United take on Birmingham City in the Championship later today, looking to secure their first win at Elland Road since February. They will also be hoping to put behind them the 3-0 defeat to rivals Middlesbrough from last week.

The result was certainly not indicative of the performance. Unfortunately for Leeds however both central defenders had a poor game. Sol Bamba was at fault for one of the goals but it was Giuseppe Bellusci who caught the main train of criticism.

The Italian was poor throughout and scored an atrocious own goal in the game, with many a Leeds fan furious about the Italian’s continued poor performances.

However, despite the poor performances in the Leeds team last week Uwe Rosler has refused to focus on the negatives. Speaking to his weekly press conference yesterday he made it clear that the club would not be dwelling on mistakes. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Rosler stated on the subject of Bamba and Bellusci:

"Sometimes you have to give people a chance."

It will be interesting to see whether Rosler sticks with the Italian this afternoon despite his talk regarding mistakes. He has Liam Cooper available to him on the bench who has played often this season and it will not come as a surprise if he slots in alongside Bamba this afternoon.
