There were doubts over Thorne's and Baird's fitness ahead of the contest, but it seems that the pair could be involved, in what is a big boost for the Midlands outfit.
“George has trained this week and as long as he has no reaction he will be in the squad for Saturday," Clement said.
“Chris Baird missed a few days due to illness but he is okay now.”
With Baird and Thorne both fit, Clement has an abundance of options in central midfield and will face a selection dilemma ahead of the game.
It wasn't all good news on the fitness front for Derby, though, with Craig Bryson still struggling with a knee complaint.
Bryson, a consistent scorer at Championship level, damaged his medial ligaments on the opening day of the season and has still not recovered.
Meanwhile, centre-back Jake Buxton and long-term absentee Will Hughes also remained sidelined.
“Craig will be stepping away from training for a couple of weeks before coming back in again - while Jake Buxton is continuing with his rehabilitation," Clement added.
“No player likes to miss games; they’ve been out for a while but they are desperate to get back.”
Derby go into their game against Brentford unbeaten in their last four matches, and could move into the playoff spots if they are able to pick up a victory.
