The Celtic midfielder has backed his under-fire colleague.
The Hoops led 2-0 at Parkhead but surrendered that lead to earn their second draw out of two in the group stages.
Ambrose was at fault for one of the goals but Commons says such mistakes are simply part of the game. The individual moment aside, the 32-year-old feels the Celtic man played well v Fenerbahce.
The Bhoys midfielder is quoted as saying by the BBC: "Mistakes are part and parcel of football.
"I think Efe played well. If you went through a full game without making a mistake, you'd be some player."
The issue for Ambrose, of course, is the fact these mistakes just keep coming up over and over again.
The 26-year-old's error against Fenerbahce has split opinion, with plenty of Celtic fans, ex-pros and pundits slating the Nigerian for his display during the 2-2 draw.
But it's no surprise an experienced team-mate like Commons is getting behind Ambrose. When the Celtic squad is fully fit, boss Ronny Deila may well use the option to drop the defender. For now, though, he remains - and looks as though he will always divide opinion.
