Franco Baldini is already being linked with high profile role, days after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
The technical director left his job earlier this week, reported the BBC, after a severance deal was agreed with the club.
Baldini was partly responsible, along with chairman Daniel Levy, for the way the money gained from selling Gareth Bale was spent, with several of the players bought already sold by the club.
He joined after leaving Serie A side Roma, and is now a target for for Inter Milan.
Italian website Tuttomercatoweb cite an article in newspaper Tuttosport, stating that bringing in Baldini is a solution the club are looking at for a current vacancy.
The club are looking to replace Marco Fassone, and have a temporary appointment in place at present.
Baldini is not the only option Inter are considering, but the fact he is among the candidates shows how highly regarded he remains in his homeland.
Inter are one of the clubs who have been regularly linked with Erik Lamela, who Tottenham signed from Roma, with The Mail citing interest in August. It would remain to be seen whether Baldini dares make an approach for the Argentine should he get offered the role.
