Tottenham Hotspur played out a 1-1 draw with AS Monaco in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has told the club’s official Twitter page that he was stunned to hear about his England call-up.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been included in the Three Lions’ squad for upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.

Alli, who has been playing well for Spurs so far this season, has admitted that he did not expect to be included in the England squad so early in his career.

Alli has also given his reaction to Tottenham’s failure to win against AS Monaco away from home in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The North London outfit played out with a 1-1 draw with the Ligue 1 side at Stade Louis II in the Group J encounter, with Stephan El Shaarawy’s late goal cancelling out a first-half goal from Erik Lamela.

Tottenham will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Swansea City away from home in the Premier League.

Spurs will head into the game at the Liberty Stadium placed sixth in the league table with 12 points from seven matches, just a point behind fourth-place and North London rivals Arsenal.
