The Nigerian international now plays for Olympiakos.
The Greek side had some familiar names in their line-up as well. Patijm Kasami, of Fulham fame, was in the heart of midfield.
The Nigerian became West Brom’s record signing last summer when they snapped him up from Dynamo Kiev for £10 million, as confirmed by the club's official website at the time.
But he struggled in his early days at the club. He failed to make a consistent impact at West Brom and was not playing regularly under former boss Alan Irvine.
He had a brief resurgence under Tony Pulis but eventually that fell away as well and he was flogged this summer to the Greek giants.
He came off in the game injured but was certainly very happy to have gotten one over on his former Premier League rivals.
Ideye sent out this Tweet after the game:
Arsenal will now hope that they can pip Ideye and co to a place in the next round.
