Monaco's former Manchester City prospect was pleased with his old side's result.
Manchester City produced a late fightback to secure a much needed Champions League win last night.
They had appeared to be heading for an away loss to Borussia Moenchengladbach, which would have left them bottom of the group, after losing at home to Juventus in their opening game.
An equaliser from Nicolas Otamendi steadied the side, before superstar Sergio Aguero scored a late penalty to seal a 2-1 win.
Their win impressed former prospect Rony Lopes, who took to Twitter to welcome the club's comeback.
Lopes would have hoped to have made the breakthrough at City to play a part himself, but starved of first team opportunities the bright prospect was sold to Monaco in the summer.
It was a surprise switch, with the expectation being he would go out on loan, and he has had a slow start to date, playing only once for the Ligue 1 side.
He hopes to be involved in their Europa League clash on Thursday evening against Tottenham, and also offered congratulations to another former side, Benfica, who recorded an impressive 2-1 away win over Atletico Madrid.
