Photos: Valencia back in West Ham training as promised, Oxford all smiles

The West Ham forward has returned to first-team training.

Enner Valencia was back in West Ham United first-team training on Thursday afternoon.

The club had promised as much on Wednesday night and here the forward was in practice.

He was taking it easy, of course, simply smiling for the camera on occasion before doing some work with the ball alongside team-mates. It's no doubt too soon for him to go all out in training.

But Valencia's return will still provide a big boost for West Ham fans.

Elsewhere, Michail Antonio was also pictured in practice and it remains to be seen when he will get his first start for the Hammers. It may well come against Sunderland but, last weekend, the summer signing didn't even feature off the bench against Norwich City.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Reece Oxford was seen in training, too, being all smiles alongside the rest of the West Ham squad.

Against Sunderland this week, Slaven Bilic will be aware of a side desperate to prove themselves following such a poor start.

Considering their away form, though, the expectation will be a West Ham result taking into account just how bad the Black Cats have been so far this term.
