The performance of James Forrest against Fenebahce impressed Celtic boss Ronny Deila, who heaped praise on him after the 2-2 draw.
Celtic were disappointed to let a lead slip against the Turkish side, but the performance of Forrest was one of the positives to emerge from the game.
At his post match press conference, relayed by Celtic's official twitter account, Deila hailed the improvement Forrest has shown over the past six months.
RD: James Forrest – what a work-rate and what a difference we can see in him now compared to six months ago.— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) October 1, 2015
It is clear with the reference to Forrest's work rate, Deila was pleased with his off the ball efforts against Fenerbahce, but it was on the ball where he also showed his quality.
He provided the assist for Kris Commons' goal after excellent work down the flanks, and completed an impressive 100 per cent of his passes.
The issue for Forrest was never his talent, but that injuries had held his development back after being touted for success early on in his career.
Now 24, he has really kicked on this season, making 13 appearances so far, and while he is yet to find the back of the net himself, looks like a player full of confidence.
