Aidan Nesbitt's UEFA Youth League hat-trick suggests a very bright future at Celtic

The Celtic youngster looks very impressive already this season.

Celtic have a number of exciting young players coming through the ranks right now and one of the very best is 18-year-old attacking midfielder Aidan Nesbitt.

The teenager has recently been travelling with Celtic’s senior side and he made his first-team debut in the Scottish League Cup clash against Raith Rovers last month.

But while the club’s senior stars prepared for their Europa League encounter with Turkish side Fenerbahce, Nesbitt was putting in a star-turn in the UEFA Youth League qualifying round against Finnish side HJK Helsinki.

For those in doubt as to whether Nesbitt is a player to really get excited about, his hat-trick performance on Wednesday would have gone a long way to convincing them.

Nesbitt, Regan Hendry and Calvin Miller scored three goals in five unbelievable minutes to put the first leg to bed, before the former added two more goals to make an emphatic statement in the second half.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has already shown he is not afraid to give youth a chance and if he keeps going at this rate, Nesbitt could be playing more first-team matches before the season is through.

Nesbitt made headlines last season when he had another three-goal haul in the Scottish Youth Cup final against Rangers, and his form shows no sign of dipping after his latest impressive outing.
