Sergiu Bus on his performance for Sheffield Wednesday's under-21 side

Sergiu Bus scored for Sheffield Wednesday in their 2-2 draw with Brentford.

Sergiu Bus has told the Sheffield Star that he was delighted to show his goalscoring instincts for Sheffield Wednesday's development squad in midweek.

Bus netted for the Owls' under-21 side in a 2-2 draw against Brentford on Tuesday, and managed to get 90 minutes of action under his belt.

That will be crucial for his match sharpness, as the Romanian forward has found first-team chances hard to come by under Carlos Carvalhal this season.

Bus has played just twice for the Owls during the current campaign, but he was pleased to have made an impact for the under-21's to remind everyone at the club of his talents.

“It was good to score," he said. "I tried to do my best. I haven’t played 90 minutes for a long time so that was very important for my fitness levels and good to get it under my belt.”

Unfortunately for Bus, he squandered his big chance in the first-team this season when he missed a sitter against Newcastle United in League Cup competition.

The 22-year-old will still be hoping that he can make an impact in the near future, though, as Carvalhal has rotated his squad a lot during his time at Hillsborough so far.

The Portuguese boss has given nearly every member of his first-team squad a chance to impress this season, and Bus will be hoping that he can take his next opportunity, whenever that may be.
