Rodwell praises West Ham but explains how Sunderland can beat them

The Sunderland player has been looking ahead to their next match.

Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell has been speaking to the club’s official website about their upcoming clash with West Ham United.

The Black Cats are currently bottom of the Premier League having failed to win a match all season, picking up just two points in the process.

In the midst of that kind of form, a visit from away specialists West Ham is the last thing Dick Advocaat’s side would have wanted, but Rodwell feels his side can take something from the encounter if they can perform for the whole game rather than just in stages.

Speaking to about West Ham, Rodwell said, “They’ve done really well away from home, they’ve got a good team, a good manager, he’s obviously got the boys working really well.”

But he went on to explain that Sunderland can start to claw back ground on the sides above them if they can be more consistent.

“I think there have just been moments in each game,” he said. “I think if we can put it all together, a full 90 minutes, I think we can challenge anyone in the Premier League.”

The Hammers will obviously have other ideas, having already beaten Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City in their own backyards, but they will not be taking Sunderland lightly and Advocaat will know his men have to turn a corner sooner rather than later.
