West Ham have built a squad attempting to compete at the top end of the Premier League table, and a report in French media outlet Le10 Sport suggests that they are already targeting players for the upcoming transfer windows.
And one of those players currently turns out for the French champions, with 30-year-old Argentine Ezequiel Lavezzi said to be on the radar of Slaven Bilic.
Lavezzi’s influence at PSG is slowly decreasing with each passing week, and this season he has found himself as nothing more than a squad member in Laurent Blanc’s team.
Although featuring in all but one of PSG’s opening eight league games, Lavezzi has started only two, and only played six minutes of action in their Champions League opener against Malmo.
It is clear that the former Napoli attacker is not in favour at the Parc des Princes, and with his contract expiring at the end of this season, rumours concerning his future have started to circulate.
A January exit is likely, if not a free transfer from PSG in the summer, and West Ham are one of the teams said to be interested in Lavezzi, along with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal.
There is no indication in the report as to whether they will make a January offer for him, or if they are keen to wait until his contract expiries before swooping for the truly talented playmaker, but it is clear that West Ham have big plans to continue their progression into a force in English football.
