Do Tottenham Hotspur have their own Anthony Martial in Clinton N'Jie?

Can Clinton N'Jie have a similar impact for Tottenham as Anthony Martial has at Manchester United?

Tottenham Hotspur new boy Clinton N'Jie could be in line for his first start for the club this week in the Europa League against Monaco.

The Ligue 1 side are a team he knows well, taking them on with Lyon last season and nearly scored a spectacular goal against them with a mazy run into the box.

Spurs fans have had to wait since he signed in mid-August for him to get up to speed, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino electing to use him just in three short substitute appearances.

What the club really need is for him to make the same kind of impact another Ligue 1 import has, Manchester United new boy Anthony Martial, who has already scored four goals for the club since making his debut earlier this month.

Anthony Martial Monaco 12 5 17
Clinton N'Jie Lyon 8 9 17

Last season both players were responsible for contributing 17 goals for their clubs each through a combination of goals and assists - with N'Jie the more creative of the two.

N'Jie has the capability to play out wide and drift into central positions, much like Martial has shown at United early in his career.

The forward looked dangerous when he came on late against Manchester City, and needs to be trusted in a bigger role in the coming weeks. The upcoming match against familiar opponents Monaco is an ideal one for him to showcase what he can do.

If he can have a similar effect to the one Martial has had at Old Trafford, then this promising Tottenham side will take on an added dimension this season and be even more difficult for opposing sides to deal with.
