Confirmed: Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City line-ups

Manchester City Etihad

Here is how Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City will line up for this evening’s match:

Manchester City take on Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach tonight, as Manuel Pellegrini’s side look to get back to winning ways following a poor run of form.

City lost 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend, slipping behind new leaders Manchester United as a result. They also recently lost 2-1 to Juventus in their opening group game of this season’s Champions League and the Blues cannot afford to take no points from a possible six.

Away games in this competition are always tough and City will know they have to be at their best to get anything against a side that is desperate for a victory of their own.

In short, whoever loses this game could be in real trouble with just two group matches played.

The one and only time these two sides have faced each other before, the German club came out on top, winning a UEFA Cup quarter-final back in 1979.

A lot has changed since then, but City are yet to really impose themselves in Europe despite their domestic success and Pellegrini knows the pressure will be on should they slip up tonight.
