Tottenham Hotspur fans react to Saido Berahino's West Brom display

Tottenham fans got a look at the player they nearly signed on deadline day with the Baggies clash with Everton live on Sky, and liked what they saw.

Saido Berahino struck for West Brom last night as his side were beaten 3-2 at Everton.

The England under-21 international now has two goals in as many games, and has his season back on track after the distraction of the transfer window caused him to fall out with the club.

He came close to signing for Tottenham Hotspur, with The BBC reporting that West Brom blocked four bids from the North London side.

Tottenham did not sign another centre forward instead, and their failure to bring in Berahino was a point of controversy for which chairman Daniel Levy received criticism.

Berahino landed both of his two shots against Everton on target, scoring with one, and was a livelier presence than West Brom summer signing Salomon Rondon.

The striker netted 20 goals in all competitions last season, and is beginning to show signs of that form, now the transfer memory is a distant memory.

A question will return mid-season however, and watching on Tottenham fans were all too aware of the reported target's performance.

Spurs are looking good themselves at present, beating Manchester City at the weekend 4-1, which only makes their failure to bring in Berahino more frustrating, as he could help improve them even further.

Here is a look at how supporters reacted to his display...
